Our Product Selection Process Gets Your
Tri-State Window Project Started Right!

Choose Your Ideal Special-Order Windows With
Support From Rockman Windows & Doors

Need custom windows in the Tri-State area? The process of finding your ideal product can be more complicated than you might think.

Not only must you consider the types of windows that fit your needs. You must also think about the features you want those windows to have. What’s more, you must determine if your preferred products fall into your target price range.

Miscues in any of these areas can throw your project off-track, leading to cost overruns and delayed timelines. And once that happens, it can be difficult or impossible to find your way back to an effective, efficient buying process.

The best way to avoid this situation? Get your product selection off to an efficient start from the very beginning.

At Rockman Windows & Doors, we call this “getting on the right train, on the right track, going in the right direction.” It’s one of our specialties. Our multi-step selection process helps you choose special-order windows that meet all your key criteria while minimizing the risk of cost overruns.

In this way, you can avoid the pitfalls that often plague this crucial phase of your project. You can also take the shortest possible path to successful project completion!

The First Step: Focusing Your Custom Window Choices

The sooner your window project is on the right track, the better. That’s why, at Rockman Windows & Doors, we like to hold a design meeting with you as early as possible.

Most of the time, this step happens before you have a construction permit, and in many cases, even before you have chosen a builder. In these circumstances, we’ll meet with you and your Architect. Of course, if you’ve already selected a builder, they’ll be invited to participate, as well.

What’s the focus of this early meeting? Narrowing down the parameters of the job. To achieve this goal, we’ll cover topics such as:

  • Whether the windows are for your primary residence or another property
  • Whether you’re building from scratch or renovating an existing home
  • If there are any specific family wants or needs we must satisfy
  • The specific goals you have in mind for your new windows
  • How much money you plan to spend on your project
  • Whether or not you’ve looked at any windows already
  • Your desired timeline for completing the project

In one way or another, each of these topics will influence your choice of the most suitable windows. For example, if your project has a tight turnaround time, we may recommend a specific manufacturer with a shorter lead time than others. The same holds true for recommendations based on any other key criteria.

When we have all the information we need, it’s time for us to create our initial proposal. This proposal will take all relevant factors into account as we work to find the right fit.

We always strive for the best possible match of brand and product. However, sometimes there’s no clear winner for your project criteria. In these circumstances, we’ll send you multiple proposals to consider.

We will also refine our proposal a few times before you sign your contract with us. That way, we can work out any potential early-stage hiccups before moving on to the next phase of product selection.

A Second Meeting For Your Tri-State Window Project

Most window suppliers only meet with you once before placing your order. And even this meeting doesn’t usually dig very deep into your project’s details.

At Rockman Windows & Doors, we consider this approach both inadequate and risky. There are just too many variables to account for on the typical window order.

That’s why we hold a follow-up design meeting. This meeting takes place in one of our two product showrooms. There, you, your builder, and your architect can get a firsthand view of what your custom windows may look like.

This is beneficial for you and for us. That’s true because it allows us to ensure the first submittal of shop drawings is done as accurately as possible.

That way, we can avoid wasting weeks of time working from outdated details or information. We can also make changes before we go into production and, ultimately, save you time and money.

Not happy with your original window choice? It’s here that we can easily switch to another option.

Final Steps Before Ordering Your New Custom Windows

But that’s not all we do to ensure you have the right windows for your home. After your second design meeting, our in-house computer-aided design (CAD) specialists will create shop drawings that:

  • Allow us to make any further changes required by your Architect or builder
  • Present you with visual representations of your custom windows
  • Let us change anything before it costs anyone any money

Our CAD specialists are part of our Order Management Team. This team’s job is to triple-check everything and identify any unforeseen obstacles to your project ASAP.

These obstacles can then be resolved as your selection process remains on track. When everything’s ready to go, it’s time to place your order.
